Overstrand Village sign Pebbles

Welcome to Overstrand… a charming picturesque seaside village on the north Norfolk coast at the heart of Poppyland. Rich in history the village has a colourful and fascinating past much of which can be discovered on the pages of this web site, and can be seen in the village’s buildings and landscape.

Ideal for day trips, short breaks and holidays at any time of the year, Overstrand offers coast and countryside walks aplenty and a range of accommodation choices and facilities that any rural village would be proud of. We hope that you will take a few minutes to explore our village through the pages of our web site but more importantly come and visit and see for yourselves; you won’t be disappointed.

The beautiful sandy beaches make this village a popular place for family holidays, and the surrounding peaceful countryside offers a wealth of delightful walks, woodlands treks and bird watching.

The village is steeped in history and boasts many architectural gems, including “The Pleasaunce” former home of Lord and Lady Battersea, Overstrand Hall, former home of Baron and Lady Hillingdon, and the Methodist Church, all designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens.

Past visitors to the village, were Winston Churchill and Clementine Churchill, Jessie Boot, founder of Boots the Chemist, the Chivers (Jam) family and Clement Scott, writer for the Daily Telegraph.
