Fitness League Ladies perform at the Albert Hall

On Saturday 2nd May, the Fitness League held a festival at the Royal Albert Hall and some of the ladies from the Overstrand class were very excited to be able to take part. It was a wonderful day of fitness and friendship celebrating 85 years of the organization. Their patron, Sophie Ellis Bextor, was there with her Grandmother to open the festival and award prizes. Overstrand’s teacher, Laura Duncan, said “It was fantastic to be able to take part in the event alongside Fitness League members from all over the country and from around the World. I am very proud to be a teacher for the Fitness League and of the ladies from my class who were involved in the festival.” As well as the main show, there were master classes, pampering sessions and many other activities, which made it a day to remember. Fitness League classes use the Bagot Stack system of exercise which is posture based, focusing on flexibility, mobility, strength and stamina. They are dance based, fun, friendly and accessible to all. Classes take place on Monday and Thursday evenings in the Parish Hall in Overstrand at 7pm.
